Toxic Cascades

Toxic Cascades was inspired by the growing pollution of the natural landscapes around us and the recent administration changes that are making it easier to destroy our forests and lakes. The photos used in this project were shot on film and then souped or “contaminated.” This physically altered the photos, representing the environmental degradation they depict. Finally, the photos were then printed out and wheat pasted on pieces of OSB wood panels. These panels are the most processed form of our trees which creates a relationship between the trees photographed and the wood its pasted on.
